German-based designer, Franziska Wodicka of SchubLaden (meaning drawers in German), creates beautiful furniture using recycled drawers that she salvaged, each of which is unique, signed and numbered.
Her crafted furniture, usually made of solid wood, ranges from large piece sideboard, cabinet to smaller wall storage and shelving unit. I like how she combines vintage-style drawers with contemporary frames, and glass effectively with wood.
I like the use of a drawer unit as a shelf, it’s quite simple but so effective! It’s not always easy to reinvent yourself when you’re working in a creative job, and using items from the past and merging them with new or in a new fonction, it’s a good idea!
