Let me interrupt your weekend with the difference between macaron and macaroon, something which I found out today. I’ve made the mistake of using both terms interchangeably, thinking that they are synonymous.
Macaron is a sandwich-like pastry made with two thin cookies and cream in between, while macaroon is a dense cookie usually made with coconut or almond paste. The art and craft that we commonly see on most blogs are fashioned after the French pastry macaron.

The above images feature handmade wool macarons by NYC-based artist Sian Keagan. Aren’t they adorable?

would you believe i was just wondering about the difference between the two today!! now i know lol.
i bought some beautiful macarons from laduree yesterday and spent this morning doing a little photoshoot, they’re so pretty, even the box is gorgeous, i’m finding it hard to want to actually eat them rather than jut adore how sweet they look
