Shabd is a fashion label founded by Brooklyn artist Shabd Simon-Alexander in 2009. It features socially conscious clothing, with a focus on artistic textile design. All Shabd garments are made locally, and fabrics are hand-dyed by the designer in her New York studio.

The colors of fall 2011 silk and jersey collection are inspired by “earth, wind, fire, water and void”. One of my favorites from the collection is the Shoreline Dress, which can be worn in many different ways. I’m also loving the Tea Gown, which will make a beautiful bridemaid’s dress, or evening gown, with its sexy open slit on the back.

Beautiful bone china ceramics with a whimsical contemporary twist by British-Japanese designer Reiko Kaneko. I’m loving the Drip Tease and Lip Tease collections, which are classic tea sets featuring decorative ‘drip’ and ‘spill’ details, and ‘lipstick stains’. I’m also smitten by the cat or dog “peering into” the ornament baubles, which are just so cute!

Spotted the envelope clutch and egg bag at Calypso St. Barth and instantly fell in love! I love the organic shape, tan leather and the lovely floral applique. I traced the maker/designer of these handcrafted bags to Rene Holguin (RTH are his initials), who opened a shop/workshop in Los Angeles earlier this year. Other than his unique line of leather goods, the shop also offers a selection of vintage clothing and jewelry. For those of you in the LA area, be sure to check it out.

The adorable collection includes Sharpie colored pens, erasers, pencils, ruled paper, 4-color pen, all with authentic colors and hand-embroidered details.
