Lorraine Loots’ Miniature Painting

Lorraine Loots’ amazing mini masterpieces take my breath away! An artist from Cape Town, South Africa, she has been doing a miniature painting a day since January 1, 2013, and has completed two full years of stunning miniature artwork. Lorraine uses a combination of watercolor paints and colored pencils in her creations. It takes her about three to six hours daily to complete each detailed art piece.

I’m fascinated by the minute details of her realistic mixed-media paintings usually barely the size of a small coin. Lorraine often surprises with a new drawing from her interesting range of subject matter, covering everyday objects, birds, animals, botany, food and scenery. Lorraine shares her works and life regularly on her Instagram and Facebook page. I have my heart set on her latest piece – a pair of converse denim sneakers, which is drawn oh so perfectly!!
